Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What exactly do you do?

A: In a nutshell, I focus on the process of meaning-making. I work with people to help them a) expand what they know, b) wrestle with new and challenging ideas, and/or c) support them as they grow through those experiences

Q: Do you work with people even if they're [X]?

A: Yes, absolutely! Many mainstream institutions may make these processes inaccessible to marginalized folks, but I strongly believe that education, spirituality, and meaning-making are for everyone.

Personally, I've worked with people from all walks of life, including but not limited to:

  • Queer, trans, and LGBTQIA+ of all stripes
  • People of color
  • Disabled and/or neurodivergent
  • Non-monogamous
  • Kinky/BDSM/alternative lifestyles
  • Sex workers

If I'm not already knowledgeable about your specific background, I'm happy to learn as we go, or refer you to someone whose identities align more closely with yours.

Q: Do I have to be Jewish to connect with you around chaplaincy or other religious services?

A: Not at all! While a fair portion of my personal experience is in specifically Jewish work, I have a great interest and passion for interfaith activism and connecting with people from faith traditions and spiritual practices of all sorts. Few things bring me greater joy than connecting with people from a wide range of religious and spiritual backgrounds (including those with none at all!) to create new and innovative practices at the crossroads of our individual perspectives.

Q: What's the deal with payment?

A: As part of my focus on accessibility, I have multiple ways for people to pay me for my labor on a commission. Each item has both a standard going rate and a sliding-scale option. If neither of those options are accessible to you, I am also open to barter, installments, or other alternative forms of compensation. Get in touch with me and we'll work something out!

Q: Why do you have both this website *and* a Patreon?

A: This website allows people who want to hire me for a specific project or commission to get in touch with me and get the process started. My Patreon, on the other hand, is a way for people who like my ongoing public work and want to support it to do so even if they don't have something specific in mind that they'd like me to do or make.
